So I've been writing a story for this competition, but I don't know how good it is because usually I'm not very good at rating myself. So please read the following story and tell me what you think.
DreamScape by Sandipika Gupta
Prologue - Aaron
Infinity. What is infinity? Infinity is the idea that something doesn’t have an end - a more scientific way of saying something that will never end. Forever. The universe is often described as ‘infinite’, perhaps because we as humans don’t like the idea that our existence was made; the idea that it simply always existed stops people from asking questions.
Questions are always asked by curious minds. They always create and cause damage, since in everything we say there is always the element of a lie. Despite being curious, we have a tendency to accept most things we are taught without thinking to question if our entire knowledge is wrong, if the way we think as people is simply wrong. Perhaps because that would lead to a collapse in society, a real end of the world, unlike the stupid movies that predicted it would happen in 2012. It was already 2014 and I’m quite sure the world still existed.
The idea of infinity must have been created for a reason, so there would be limitless space to fill. But what else is also infinite? The human mind. It is capable of almost anything because we have an element of our mind, which enables us to think ‘outside the box’ - ask questions, create whole worlds; this part of our mind is called the ‘imagination’ and enables us to be the creative beings we are. Many argue that this must be evidence of God, as we do not need it to survive – but this can’t be true - creativity is the very thing, with help from opposable thumbs, which enable us to be the dominant species in this world.
We use this creative element to fill the infinite space of the universe.
Whenever we have a thought, an idea, or even have a dream or nightmare, it comes into existence; somewhere in the infinite universe it is real and dangerous. As humans, we hone this ability to create in childhood and in adulthood we manipulate it to create a living. We write novels, fund movies, sing songs, and for our whole lives we sleep every night with pictures on the inside of our eyeballs – these are our dreams. Sometimes our day has gone badly and we cannot help but notice the shadows lurking around our beds - this time the pictures aren’t sweet but bitter and sometimes petrifying – these are called nightmares.
And they are the things, which fill the inhospitable part of our infinite universe. But the main problem with all of this is one fact:
Everything we ever think of is real, every good or bad thought, every dream we have ever had.
It all exists.
And one day the figments of our imaginations will come back to get us.
In our world.
Chapter 1 - Maya
Someone yelling my name harshly interrupted my thoughts.
“Maya!”
“Hmm?” I awoke abruptly.
“Maya!”
“Yes?”
“MAYA!”
“What?” I shouted
Every time I looked at Eric I found it extremely difficult to be mad at him. His entire face shone with the innocence of a child and I could never imagine him upset when he was like this. His face was constantly, and annoyingly radiant.
Maybe I had gained immunity to his shining blonde hair, sea blue eyes and boyish charm. Although, admittedly I still found his jokes funny.
“What?” I said lowering the volume.
“You were ignoring my story of how I got an commendation with my latest essay on the French Revolution.” He said with fake hurt.
“How did the French revolutionize themselves?” I asked with a fake interest.
“Never mind. I can never hope to capture the interest of the greatest daydreamer of her time.” He spoke dramatically.
I smiled. He made everything look so ridiculously easy it was unnerving. He was one of the top students at the Academy and he wasn’t afraid to show it. He didn’t want to be the stereotypical blonde haired, blue eyed, pretty boy, and he made an effort to make sure he wasn’t seen that way.
We first became friends when we had Martial arts classes together, I was pretty pathetic then and he was forced to be my partner. He showed me that even his slender, lanky frame could be strong. It happened to be his special way of escaping the world, when times got tough for him. He would find a punch bag and try getting his anger or frustration out on it; it was his escape from reality, perhaps he thought that being physically stronger would help one to be mentally strong as well. But at the same time, he said the best way to learn about something is to find a question and put all your energy and mind on answering it. That’s what the best people do – focus of something specific. I assumed his focus was to be amazing at martial arts or to be the strongest he could, both physically and mentally.
Expulsion was a common thing in the Academy. The headmasters always justified this by saying that there were a millions of children out there who wanted this opportunity. And you were only expelled if you could be replaced by one of the ‘millions of children’. There were 6 billion people on earth.
To get chosen into the academy you had to be something special. ‘Exceptional’ was the key word. The very best at whatever interested you, whether that is the idea of infinity or martial arts.
You didn’t get to apply to this school, you were chosen. The job at the Institution, when you got it, was extremely high risk and specialised so your first salary would be a minimum of $100,000 per week. That’s the main reason people suffer through the pain and pressure of the Academy. The simple idea of money was something that seemed to drive most people. Unlike me who wanted to simply learn and unlike Eric who wanted to prove to his foster parents that he deserved to be their son. But this was only my educated guess, he had never actually told me that. He never wanted to linger on his family too long.
The current headmaster, Headmaster Smirnov, was according to older students, particularly harsh. However he was said to be one of the most talented headmasters at the academy so far with martial arts. He was able to take down an enemy with his eyes closed, or his hands tied behind his back in only 10 seconds. He would practise every morning in his house before he came to the Academy. Newbies were lucky to last two terms. I joined when I was 16 and had luckily lasted a whole year now. But only with Eric’s help and because I was particularly interested in the theory of infinity, and theory of creation thoughts, so this was commended by the previous headmaster.
Eric was the close friend of the headmaster’s son. Which meant he got private lessons from the headmaster himself. So of course he was amazing at everything. But this in itself made his life harder because, he had to have a focus, something he was particularly good at. The Institution didn’t want people who were perfect at everything strangely enough. They were looking for people who could focus and specialise.
Everyone had their own partner whom they worked well with, physically and mentally. Also they would be close generally. This was supposed to be a connection made by ‘fate’; you never really knew whether or not someone was your fighting partner, you could hazard a guess but usually you weren’t sure. Eric was lucky enough to have found his, or so he guessed. Many people went through their whole lives without finding their ‘propinquum’. That meant the one with whom you would be perfectly synced with. Aaron, the headmaster’s son, was Eric’s. When they fought together it was supposed to look so perfect it would look like they had rehearsed it, according to Eric and the headmaster. Unfortunately I had never spoken to or seen Aaron.
Eric also lived with the headmaster and Aaron, since Eric’s own parents had died from the monsters of his dreams. He never spoke about his parents because, I suspected, he blamed himself for their deaths. But from time to time he spoke about Aaron, who was 19, and talked about him as if they were brothers in everything but name. However Aaron was two classes above Eric and me.
In the Academy it wasn’t about how old you were, it was your amount of experience you had before you got chosen. So the first year had people of all ages, which ranged from 15-25 years old.
You got through to the next year when you did something exemplary.
There were five years and I was currently in Year 2 with Eric.
One of the ideas that got Aaron into Year 4 was a way to prevent a ‘creation thought’ from being created on a very basic level – by voicing our thoughts.
If we were to voice our thoughts, it was less likely the thought would infest our minds and turn into something in the infinite universe.
But even before I came here I had always thought about infinity. It was drove me the same way martial arts drove Eric. Eric called me a daydreamer all the time; because sometimes I forgot the world and lingered on a thought, a single idea that was usually about infinity.
The thoughts were usually something like; why do we need infinity? Do we want to live for infinity? The ideas in my head were like pollen in the wind, whirling swirling, each of them growing into another. But the irony is that we have all these infinite thoughts in our head, but really how many of our thoughts voiced?
Most of our thoughts are not voiced; they remain in our heads till we die and sometimes they will die with us. But some thoughts are too precious to discard; they are developed into something powerful through the energy and power of the human mind.
And that is why they break free.

Dear Reader
Recently (but not really) I went on my qualifying Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, there's not really much to say about that other than the fact that it was much better, and probably easier. The highlights mainly consisted of darkezrules randomly falling over a rock while trying to record a video. But i made a big thing out of it and I was like "OMG ARE YOU OKAY?" and goth chick turned around and was like "OMG WHAT HAPPEND"? and darkezrules was just there lying on the floor like a rug....and she was like...."sorry guys, not sure how that happend.." I was just like "WTF! You're the one who fell! Why are you saying sorry?" Strange child...Anyways we got lost on the first day, totally blaming the inaccuarte map dated from 2008. WE found we went around in a circle and wasted about two hours...it was truly pitiful. But in the end we got to the place we were supposed to be with goth chick navigating, but then we got lost again at 'Rock Farm' a name we all learned to hate. Also on the way there we had to go through a herd of cows, it was pretty....scary, but it was chilled as I remembered I was a Hindu and I love cows. They all stare at you as if they're eyes are saying "you eat tons of us, but you look pretty tastey too, I might sit and fart on you to cook you into a human burger." Then we finally made it there is felt amazing! However the strange thing was that there were a bunch of REALLY LOUD PEACOCKS there. It was strange since my first thought was like : wtf is peacock doing somewhere in the peak district but the place we were was very fancy with a games room and a shower and everything. General opinion also said that the bus here was also very fancy. The expiditions become much better in quality. The second day mainly consisted of us running away from sheep and being very adamant that we were going the right way, although we were sure to yell at the map maker - Patrick and we named the map Matthew and didn't forget to name the route card Jimbob - that was My idea.
While we were resting me got surrounded by sheep who also started pissing in goth chick's face, she was properly insulted. They were lambs so they were too young to know we were a threat....we quickly ran over a style. They were surprisingly scary i seemed to find them more scary then cows much to bookworm's disgust. We actually reached there half an hour early despite the inaccurate and stupid map (Patrick), so we started taking pictures of the plants in town, for comparison. (not really). Everyone slowly appeared as I helped myself to a hot chocolate and some danish Pastry. After buying potterfan101 and goth chick some chips from a fish and chip shop. potterfan101 was particularly greedy as she wouldn't share with me even though i was the one who bought the chips in the first place. Then I went to stand on a Bridge in the town square, underneath which was a beautiful fountain made out of the river, it looked natural and it was very nice.
We got onto the Luxury Bus once more, and I felt the entire thing was surreal.
The most annoying thing which i had to experience was the fact that in three days I had to take my GCSE History test on Hitler and Germany. They expedition's timing was terrible, but admittedly the overall expedition was pretty good.
However I admit if you want to take part in this i will give you some advice dear reader and it is your choice whether you wish to take it.
10 Pieces of Advice
- Keep the Mood happy and light. If everyone is sad you will find it difficult to keep going
- Sing your favourite songs with your friends along the way.
- If your Finding the pain unbearable trying concentrating on something very specific e.g taking the next step, play a song in your head or even the sticks and stones around you.
- Bring 50 million breakfast Bars you will need them when you get hungry - eat them even if you feel the slightest bit of hunger
- Nominate some to be the navigator and an assistant navigator (that was me!) and also a leader to stays ahead and makes sure you are going the right way.
- Moss grows on the North side of tress - this will help you the same way as your compass
- Put your water bottle in someone else's rucksack, so you don't have to awkwardly reach around your bulky bag. And Drink whenever you're even slightly thristy
- Keep a constant pace, this will actually speed you up as you won't need as many rests
- If you get ahead of your team, then wait at the next landmark for them, don't get out of sight.
- Pack as light as it is humanely possible
hope you find this useful future DofE-ers

As many of you know, being a teenager is pretty difficult, it takes a lot of guts to survive throughout this stage. However most people do, they get out of school, just to be awarded with more school in the form of university ;/. What you gonna do?
Anyways one of the many important things I've been doing include Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. An good qualification. This is the first award in the award scheme and recently my school had the practise expedition. Which after everything was still fun. The expedition basically consits of camping and walking. You walking for 10km, and eat lunch in between, then you rest at a campsite for the night and continue for the rest of the day.
At the beginning it was actually very nice we sang songs and made mistakes by going the wrong way and such. I was navigating. After a while it seemed that we were all getting tired except for goth chick who continued to go straight ahead, not tired at all. I think it was scary how she never got tired. After a while me and darkezrules decided that she should be called robot overload, cause she was better at navigating because I kept looking for shortcuts, and also because she wasn't almost dead from the weight of her 30kg rucksack. But then again I was weak and even if we all had the same weight rucksacks, it would be harder for me. Plus I have to carry my own body weight which was a lot heavier than most peoples (unfortunately). However on the way we saw a dazzling display of sheep and cows. The cows seemed a lot bigger in person, which may have been why everyone, when they walked passed them, became seriously quiet. We didn't want any bulls charging at us. That may have killed us and we all had to get to the end to pass, cause there's only four of us. Also the cows seemed to have this way of staring at you. It was quite scary, like you ran away if you got too close (actually goth chick seemed to scare them away, I knew her scary face would come in handy someday :)) The cows started at you as if they were going to talk to you, I actually found it scary. But I was rest assured that I was Hindu so I protected them, kinda. The walking was fun at first, but after a while carry 30kg takes it toll on you. We sat and ate lunch in the middle of a wood, it was nice and shady but there seemed to be surplus of bugs where we were. We all had pasta cause pasta was nutritious yet filling. Or because we all kinda couldn't be more creative with our food.
Then we walked and walked for hours on end. We always seemed to get lost whenever I navigated, but you know whatever. We got to the campsite a little while after most people, but at least we got there. We had a lot of fun at camp, we played a sort of strange merge of every sport we knew how to play. We hit a football with a cricket bat and ran around four posts. (football, cricket, and rounders) it was quite fun. I was just gonna watch but then i ended up playing anyway. Then we toasted marshmallows and played Harry one spot, it was a good game but it was one of those games you could only play with like 15 people around a campfire, and we were tricked into playing it. We could only play if we swore not to back out again, because if you got it wrong, then you would have a spot drawn on you, then two spots and then a moustache. it was hilarious. And strangely the same kinda people were drawn on. Luckily I wasn't drawn on, but a small part of me wanted to take a picture of me with a black spot on my face. ;) For dinner we had noodles in our lunchboxes and of course marshmallows. :) And then for breakfast we had sandwiches which i had made. Annoyingly no one really ate them. But fortunately for me, it was goth chick's turn to wear the douche cape, (this was a bright, florescent yellow waistcoat two out of four had to wear so cars could see us) so she took my still heavy lunchbox and I wore the douche cape a second day.
Anyways the second day was definitely better because i was listening to my iPod, i could take my mind of the pain. But i needed to more because everyone seemed to finish my plasters for me. It was quite surprising how many plasters Pottergal needed in one go. Even though it was after a whole day. It turned out we were walking faster this day, and we didn't get lot either, maybe because goth chick was navigating and not me, although i did try to help as well. i was second-in-command to navigate. We got lost near the end though, in a steep hill which was annoying. it turned out we had to go up and down the hill which was annoying, but luckily we made it. Annoyingly to other groups caught up with us, The Inbetweeners and The Incredibles. You gotta love the incredibles, as a group name but Dumbledore's Army was the best group name ever. It has to be said. Anyways We actually got there second, but a couple minutes because we were adamant we were going the right way when in fact we weren't. Shame but the very worst part was at the end. The was a huge hill which we had to go up at an approximately 40 degree angle. And I should mention, that we had to go up a hill before this as well, then we went up the evil hill that was 100ft (and i wasn't exaggerating-really)
I was close to tears at the end of it, and so was Pottergal. We then walked REALLY slowly the rest of the way because we were just too tired. I basically died. Actually getting there was amazing, we literally lay there for ages!!! But only because we knew the bus was gonna be a while. The chip shop, to goth chick's annoyance was closed. It closed literally the minute we got there, which was disappointing. I borrowed money from Mr Holmes to buy a drink, but then I gave it back for two reasons, I didn't wanna owe a teacher and i could really find anything I wanna buy. the ice cream was too ordinary.
Anyways the bus journey home was amazing, we played would you rather with the people around us. Although I may have grossed them out. Darkezrules was sitting next to me and she fell asleep rather awkwardly, as in it looked really uncomfortable. I felt bad waking her up when we got there.
On arriving it turned out we reached at 5:30 when i told my dad i would be there at 3:00 but he got my previous text saying we'd be there at 5:15 and came at 5:15. We had to go inside and hand in our camping equipment. We had lost our compass, but some other group had found one so luckily we didn't have to pay for one. And we stole some other group's fuel for the trangea. We literally ran out of the school! I ran to my dad who took my bag and was shocked that i carried it for 20km. But even though this was a practise i was really proud of myself for actually surviving. I went to bed at 7:00pm that day and woke up at 8:00am. That was 13 hours of heavenly sleep in my awesome bed with a memory foam mattress. It felt pretty good!!

In many points in history brain-washing has been used in a way that most people are shocked by or frown upon. For example in history, Nazis brainwashed the people of Germany into believing that Jews were evil or whatever and that Aryans are a superior race. This is of course nonsense, and FYI to Hitler Aryans are actually Perisans, Indians and Africans who went along to populate the rest of the world. However in my experience brainwashing is something which can happen to everyone. After all there are some people who believe that Rebbecca Black's 'Friday' is a good song, the rest of us of course have our sanity intact and have realised that is may well be the WORST SONG IN EXISTENCE, but this is not the same as brainwashing suppose. These are people's opinions, Hitler called brainwashing political re-education. But overall I believe that most of our opinions are the result of the affect of the people around us. Like our parents affect a lot of things like our taste in clothes and what kind of music we like. Or you may be like me and like artists in phases, but still like them separately afterwards, at the moment I'm having a thing with Taylor Swift. Many of my friends like goth chick and child-genius think I'm crazy for liking Taylor Swift, but obviously they would have different tastes to me, the same way i like Vampire Diaries (because its just the best) with my TVD #1 fan: head-strong-girl. But i don't think they've even ever seen one episode. (SHAME ON THEM) But we also share a lot of interests like Doctor Who which we have been talking about at length. In my opinion the little girl is Amy's and Rory's child and she is a Time Lord because the Doctor did something to Rory and/or Amy which made them have a Time Lord kid. But if you have any other theories please share them in the comments.
But the weird thing is even thought you have different tastes from your friends they will always affect you, hopefully in a good way. Although thanks to goth chick i will never look at pandas and dolphins the same way again, and wolves although they aren't as bad. They are just schizophrenic :S. Good thing tigers are still epic, but then again they are kinda close to extinction, which sucks.
But don't worry i won't go into a large rant about whether we should use genetic engineering to bring back tigers or not, we do that enough in biology.
Anyone else think that its really annoying that suddenly Religious Studies and Biology aren't that much different. You may think that I'm exaggerating but the amount of evaluation questions we have to know how to answer is just ridiculous.
But from what I've heard the learning doesn't get any easier, but the subjects get more interesting. I liked Biology better in year 7-9 when it was mostly learning, and exams were about knowing stuff. I liked School better then, full stop. Just because at that age, usually you want to learn, i know i did. But then again it has been proven that I'm quite strange as a person, but in a like able way. Although my trusty friends would disagree, they would probably say I'm weird full stop.
BTW I don't know how long i should make these blogs? is this okay
post me on face book or email me.

As I hope you have all noticed, this blog is called 'the randomness of daily life'. I thought of this name mostly because my daily life is extremely random, althogh some of it is by choice. Others happen quite coincedently and by accident, like conversations which I stumble onto, including some very interesting conversations about Mr.Cullen's love life (ahem). But I'm going to have a child friendly blog so I won't share the dark/sick minded views of my strange friends.
My day started very heavily some how, I think many will agree with me when I say that perhaps the worst thing about the day is getting up and 7 o'clock or earlier in the morning to get ready for school. Not to mention my usually sluggish morning was disrupted by dudes n my house, putting in the floor, in the living rom and hallway. As I ate my cereal they ripped up carpet, it was unexpected and surreal. On the way to school we listened to the first song on the Lion King 2 track. It was nice. click here to listen. Im sure my friend Darkezrule will agree that Lion King is pretty Epic. ;) My friends (especially imaginary friend and goth chick) all say I say epic too much, so much in fact that they are now saying it as well.
Anyways on arriving school I saw emo buddy and walked with her to the library, well I say walked. I stood and held the door open while she walked into the Library.
Bookworm was there and I hadn't seen her in ages, although I couldn't put my finger on why! Then they started talking about austria and I caught on. So we talked and stuff (that sounded like something from scott Pilgrim) And for some reason I started thinking about revision tecniques. I revise through memorable things, just things that my mind chooses to remember and the rest is in my subconscious, which one could say applies to everyone. Everthing taught is remebered sub-cosciencely since it is through memories that we develop emotions and a sense od right and wrong. And without emotions we would never have emotes :D.
Anyways myself and beiliber had to go to registration, it was quite shocking what we found out that morning.
Now I should say that I have recently had exams and been revising my butt off for them. So i expected to get the results today - but lets be honest, Exams results are never good, especially for internal exams. They are always below expectations no matter how hard you do them.(for me anyway). But according to my friends, I did "good". Now in my opinion how "good" you are at a subject depends on what you usually get and what your personal expectations are, as well as the prospect of trying to plan ahead using the exam marks in front of you. Exams are merely proof of your intelligence n a subject, otherwise people would no do them. You have to use what you get to the best of your abilities, after all, if you want to get into NASA straight Cs aren't really going to you show you the light at the end of the tunnel.
Anyways long story short, we had vaccinations and a photo shoot today all within two hours.
It was like a nightmare. I had to have a picture taken of mee on a bad hair day aw well as have TWO needles jabbed into me. Now don't get me wrong im pro vaccinations, but I really do think I have an irrational phobia of needles, and unlike everyone else I DO remember the after effects which include the ache in your arms after you've had your jab. The photo shoot was actually before the jabs but people were walking down from maths thinking, which was worse; photo shoots when our's hairs messy on a windy day or jabs. I concluded it was jabs but imaginery friend was very confident that it wouldnt hurt - It hurt and in fact it still hurts....
Then the day passed quickly and I realised I wasnt going to get back any good exam results today so I gave up expecting them. It was lunchtime and my friends tried to convice me it was break anf failed and it was then we had our interesting conversation on the abilities of Edward Culle, there as also Genie there who happens to be in year eight and may genuinly be as sick-minded as a year ten. But she does get along perhaps a little too well with us all - i sometimes forget she's in a year below us. But then again I'm no elephant.
We also got a new Chemistry teacher who I think is a HUGE improvement from the sad excuse we had for a teacher last. This teacher is mush more to-the-point and will not stand for rubbish. Which was what the other teacher perhaps stood for, too much. I never really like change but have comed to accept it since i hae moved scool upto 4 times. After a while you realise who are the good people/teachers and the bad ones and you have to make a distinction.
On returning home I was supposed to go to Voluntry work with jonas101 however I left the school at the time the thingy started so it was almost impossible i come on time. So i just wanted to say sorry. I havent lost my sense of duty - i just couldnt keep upto it tioday since i had to avert my energies elsewhere.
It is now 22:23 and high time i go to sleep.
sorry my grammar was bad in the last paragraphs i was rushing as you may well be able to tell.
ps: i have to write an english essay thingy on change any ideas? k bye xox

Hello to all those 26 people I think I may have forced to read this blog :)
thank you for viewing this blog, you have made one little girl very happy. Well I say little, I'm actually 15 (to thoes who dont know me obvs), so I'll leave you to judge whether or not i am littlle, which in my opinion depends on what age you are yourself. Also it depends on the said person's (me) personality.
For thoes who don't actually know me "hi!" and to thoes who do know me, kinda-ish, but don't "welcome" and to thoes who are my friends - you just increased your awesomeness for me.
If you like reading these posts, which I do plan to write more of then please click the follow button which is on the left. (for now) Though I warn you it won't let you follow from a hotmail account as far as I remember. Mini-me (My younger sister- who apprently has a strong resemblence to myself) had to have gmail to follow me. But I think you can have Yahoo as well, and something else, which escapes my mind, but tell me in the comments what that is.
I'm obviously new to this so dont go hating me for my n00bish spelling errors, however i would be grateful if you corrected my spelling and grammar, which I admit is henious (I think thats how you spell it?) and have been told so by many teachers and my own loving parents, throughtout most of my life. And of course being a nerdfighter, I'm always open to general kinds of improvement. (Although i warn you it took my teachers 7 years to teach me that centre had to be spelt with re, as i was adamant to believe that if it doesn't sound like that it shouldnt be spelt as such)
For thoes who know me, they will find that i talk about them in this blog a lot, since I probably see them frequently, but just to be cool (not really) and annoying, I have decided to give all the people I know codenames. Which adimittedly won't be very hard to de-code however, I'm hoping to thoes that don't know me, it will sound strange and hopefully make you smile.
I think by now you may hae noticed that i have sometimes used capital I and then small i, and i have sometimes put in apostrophes and then i haven't. That right there was me making an effort in grammar and punctuation. And I will also try to use more challenging words in my vocab to practise spelling. :) And if you know any amazingly long words that i could use please put them in the comments and their definitions (so i can use them in the right context)
thanks for reading/caring/being at all bothered

well right now I'm afraid I dont really have the time to write a ridiculously long blog, however I felt that my wall looked blank and bleak without even one blog, so I decided to post this. This is of course introductory and by no means the most exciting I can be.
sorry :S
